Q. Will the screen I receive be the same one as the one in my laptop?

A. Laptop makers like Dell, HP Compaq, IBM, Toshiba and Sony may source more than one LCD screen (as distinguished by the LCD screen's part number) and even from different brand LCD screen manufacturers to install in the same laptop model. We supply genuine major brand laptop screens to replace your original screen. The screen will be 100% compatible with your laptop and of the same high quality as all the major manufacturers produce.

Q. What warranty do you give on your screens?

A. We are probable the only company selling screens that will give you 12 months warranty on the screens we sell. We also have a zero dead pixel policy.

Q. Do you provide installation instructions with the screen?

A. We don't supply details with how to fit every screen to every laptop make and model on the market, but we have got basic instructions on the website ( here ). The same principles apply to every laptop screen replacement. If you do get stuck, we are here to help guide you, as we have fitted screens to nearly all the laptops in the marketplace. You can call us for help during working hours, at no extra cost.

Q. Can Computerbasement install my screen for me?

Q. Do I need a new laptop LCD screen if I have lines on my screen?

A. It is possible that you need a new laptop LCD screen. The presence of lines could indicate a problem with the screen, the video cable or the video card.

Q. Do I need a new laptop LCD screen if my LCD screen is dim?

A. You may or may not need a new LCD screen if the LCD screen is dim. If your LCD screen is dim it may be as a result of either 1) a faulty backlight or 2) a faulty inverter. The backlight is basically the light bulb in the laptop LCD screen, which as one would suspect has an average useful life. The inverter, however, is a separate piece from the LCD screen. The inverter essentially 1) takes the DC power which the laptop runs off of and converts it into AC power and 2) steps-up the voltage to light up the cold cathode fluorescent backlight.

( We have found that when a laptop LCD screen is dim, the majority of the time it is as a result of a faulty inverter (especially for HP laptop components). Unfortunately, the best way to determine what causes a dim screen is through a process of elimination by trying either a new LCD screen or a new inverter and seeing which solves the problem. We highly recommend you purchase an inverter first as inverters are less expensive than LCD screens.)
